在我的理解中，随着状语应该是随着一个动作——某个动作随着另一个动作发生。譬如：
He rode away whistling. 他吹着口哨骑车走了。
She stood at the door talking to a neighbour. 她站在门口和邻居谈话。
Everybody came in the room, singing and smiling. 大伙唱着笑着走进教室。
He walked along in front of me, holding the lantern. 他提着灯笼走在我前面。
但假如被随着的是一个系表结构呢？譬如：
He was in the room, reading a book.
如此的句子也可以吗？假如可以，其中的目前分词短语也是随着状语吗？
系表结构后面也可以搭配随着状语的，但此时的随着状语不是随着一个动作，而是随着一个状况。如：
He’s in the bar having a drink. 他在夜店间坐着喝酒。
She was in the corner, watching my every move. 她在角落里注视着我的一举一动。
She was in London for two years, working as a tourist guide. 她在伦敦待了两年，充当导游。
She was alone in the corner, hoping people wouldn’t ask what she had in her suitcase. 她一个人在角落里，期望大家不会问起手提箱里有哪些。
